Welcome to the Margaret’s Legacy Holocaust Learning and Jewish Advocacy Centre in Hamilton, ON. Below you’ll find all the information you need to plan your visit.

Hours

Monday - Thursday 12-5

Fridays 12-4

Saturdays - Closed

Sundays - Upon request

 

Extended Hours & Complimentary Admission on the first Wednesday of every month from 5-8pm

Starting September 2024

Please book this visit in advance to guarantee entry. 

 

Visitor Guidelines

Please purchase your ticket online prior to your visit.

 

We understand that learning about the Holocaust and antisemitism can be triggering. We advise all visitors to adequately prepare themselves as some content may be disturbing.

 

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Cost

Adults $10.00

 

Children (under 12) $5.00

 

Complimentary entry to the Centre is given to those who fall within the following categories: 

Holocaust Survivors

Caregivers accompanying a person with disabilities 

Tours

Private and Group Tours will be available September 2024

Holiday Closures

The Centre is closed on all statutory, civic and Jewish observant holidays.

Photography & Social Media

No photography allowed. Authorization can be granted by Centre's staff.

Notice of Filming & Photography

Upon entering the Centre you consent to having your photograph and/or video taken and its release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction.

Conduct

No Disruptive Behaviour.

Refrain from any behavior that may disrupt the experience of other visitors, including running, shouting, or roughhousing.

Respectful Language: Use respectful and appropriate language when discussing the Holocaust, antisemitism, and related topics. Avoid language that could be offensive or hurtful to others.

No Touching Exhibits: Do not touch or tamper with any exhibits, artifacts, or displays unless explicitly permitted by signage or staff.

Supervision of Children: Keep children under close supervision at all times to ensure their safety and to prevent any disruptive behavior.

Follow Staff Instructions: Follow any instructions given by staff members regarding exhibit access, safety guidelines, or other directives.

Respect Personal Space: Be mindful of the personal space of other visitors and refrain from crowding or blocking exhibits.

Report Any Concerns: If you observe any behavior that violates these rules or makes you feel uncomfortable, please report it to staff immediately.

Items Not Permitted in Exhibit

Must be checked when you enter. All bags are subject to inspection upon arrival.

  • Backpack-style child carriers, wagons, or other pull vehicles
  • Full size umbrellas
  • Food and drink
  • Photography selfie sticks, tripods, monopods
  • Musical instruments
  • Pets (service animals are allowed)

Prohibited Items

  • Paints and aerosols
  • Indelible markers
  • Weapons of any type
  • Any item prohibited under the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Any item deemed by JHamilton staff to be inappropriate or unsafe
